Bamboo Bookcases
While the popular image of bamboo bookcases is that they
are weak and not sturdy, and while it is true that scientifically bamboo is
a grass, an actual bookcase or bookshelf constructed of bamboo
is really extremely strong. Equally surprisingly, bamboo
furniture is not a modern or "island-type" furniture associated with vacations
and rum drinks with umbrellas. Instead, bamboo bookcases were very popular
in the Victoria era, although perhaps the style of bookcase at that time differed
from that seen today. While Carmel Bookcases
does not make bamboo bookcases, many types of bamboo furniture are still available
today.
