Birch Bookcases
Birch is an extremely common wood used in woodworking
in general and in bookcases in particular. Its strength, particularly in layered
manufactured wood, allows sturdy bookcases to be
made. Equally important, its smooth surface, easily repaired
in an industrial setting, allows it to be painted to a glass-like bookcase
finish. Unfortunately, it does not appear as beautiful stained as some other
woods, such as walnut, which therefore make better stained bookcases. However,
some people still like to use birch as a wood for unpainted
or stained bookcases and bookshelves. Carmel Bookcases is proud to offer both
alternatives, in any of the types of bookcases it makes.
