Craftsman Bookcases
A very popular modern style of bookcases, the Craftsman
style, is actually a derivation of an older style of bookcase: Arts & Crafts
Bookcases. The Arts and Crafts Movement was a reaction against the perceived
soullessness of the Machine Age; the artisans
who designed the Craftsman style were following this earlier
style.
Craftsman bookcase and bookshelf proponents designed a
specifically American response to the
English roots of the Arts & Crafts movement. Carmel Bookcases
