Walnut Bookcases
Walnut is arguably the most elegant bookcase wood.
It is solemn and well-suited to classic library bookcases. It is used in the
most expensive libraries in the world, those of the 19th-century robber
barons of American history, as well as their earlier progenitors,
English lords. It's also important to keep in mind that walnut ages. It starts
out a fairly light color, and gradually ages, faster in the presence of sunlight,
to the dark brown color that people frequently associate with walnut
bokcases. Of course, that process doesn't happen overnight.
If you're wiling to wait, though, Carmel Bookcases is proud to offer walnut
built-in bookcases and walnut
freestanding bookcases.
Walnut is a hardwood, it is relatively durable and therefore
not as subject to nicks and scratches as some other built-in
bookcases.
